Biography for Anne Abate
Anne Abate is the Director of Internet Strategy for
GovConnect. Other titles she currently
holds at GovConnect (and yes, she uses all of them) include Director of Communications
and Marketing, Director of Communications and Research, and Chief Office
Interior Decorator Expert. She tries to
keep her hand into all areas of the company, internal and external
communications, but continues to emphasize her research skills.
Anne held a position as a full time professor at Xavier
University teaching information systems and electronic commerce in
1999-2000. She decided to try her hand
at corporate America in 2000 to see how much trouble she could cause
there. Of course, Anne has spent the
majority of her career as a librarian and has worked in public, academic, and
special libraries most recently serving as the head librarian at the law firm
of Dinsmore & Shohl in Cincinnati.
Anne is an active member of several professional library associations
and has served on the Board of Directors of the Special Libraries
Association. She has also served as
President of the Cincinnati Chapter of SLA and Chair of the Legal Division, as
well as holding the position of Chair on several committees on the Chapter,
Division, and Association levels.
Anne graduated from Xavier University in Cincinnati
Ohio. She has a master’s degree in
Library Science from the University of Kentucky and a doctorate in computer
technology from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale Florida.
