Karen Holloway is Science-Engineering Team
Leader at the University of Arizona Library in Tucson; however, she has been
Acting Team Leader of the library's financial and administrative services since
July 2002. Last summer she was selected
to attend the Bryn Mawr Institute for Women in Higher Education Administration
and this experience generated an interest in honing her skills in broader areas
of management. She moved from the
Washington DC area about four years ago, after having worked as an information
professional for an aerospace association, a government agency (NASA), and a
publishing company.
Prior to her Washington experience, she
established an information center in an engineering firm in Atlanta. Tucson is
home for the foreseeable future and the Sonoran desert is a wonderful place to
live. She has been an active member of
SLA since 1978 and most recently a member of the Networking Committee, chair of
the Endowment Funds Grants Committee, and president of the Arizona Chapter.
