Music Map

http://www.music-map.com/

The music map is a handy, time-devouring, tool that really works for me. The homepage is sparse, with a search functionality smack in the middle of the page, just like Google. Search on the name of any music artist that you already like and your search results will deliver a “map” of other artists that you may also like, with the artist of your search at the dead center. Click on any artist to create a new “center” to your map and bring in other artists that are related. It’s an exercise in artificial intelligence. Music map also has an option for play in the same regard with books and movies. I haven’t used it for those options yet, since my reading and movie-watching list is already rather long. But while I’m too busy reading blogs and attempting to shorten my to-do list, I use music map to locate other bands I may be interested in, to feed new tunes into my iPod, which is nearly full.
