Tour of the
National Museum of
the Marine Corps

DC/SLA members and guests are invited to join the Military Librarians Group of DC/SLA on a tour of the National Museum of the Marine Corps. Opened in November, 2006, the museum celebrates the over 230 years of Marine Corps history. It also allows visitors to experience the training that Marines undergo and to document their contributions to the war in Iraq.

     9:00    Meet in parking lot for tailgate breakfast
     9:30    Tour museum

Optional Dutch-treat lunch at local restaurant after the tour, 11:30ish.

The group is also planning to arrange carpool options from the Franconia-Springfield METRO station (blue line). Please express your interest to ride with someone or offer to drive when you register.

REGISTRATION:

There is no charge for entrance to the museum. However, RSVP is requested by COB Friday, October 12, so that we can inform the museum guides about the size of our group.

$5.00 is requested from all participants, both members and non-members, to cover the costs of the tailgate breakfast. Please pay via PayPal.

The tour will continue. Dress warmly. Bring an umbrealla. We will be sure to provide enough coffee and cocoa to warm you!
