After you've joined the list, post a message here: SLA-CPNW@lists.sla.org. When posting to the list, always add a subject line.
Try to use a subject line which will make it easy for people to decide whether they're interested in your posting when they are scanning their mail
inbox.
The Special Libraries Association Pacific Northwest Chapter discussion list is used
for communication among area SLA members and anyone else who is interested
in special library issues. Topics which are encouraged for discussion
include:
- Special Library Association business and activities, with emphasis on local issues.
- Continuing education and other events of interest to the Pacific Northwest regional special
library community. Special libraries are encouraged to post notices of events from their calendars.
We also encourage list members to post educational opportunities and other upcoming events on this listserv.
- Internet tips and new resources of interest to Special Libraries. Ask your fellow librarian for help with
reference questions and share Internet sites which you have found particularly interesting or helpful in your work.
- Other Stuff: Any other topic which has relevance or would be of interest to special librarians and library supporters
from all types of libraries is encouraged and applauded. Observe basic netiquette, please.
This list is currently open (anyone with an Internet email address can join) and unmoderated (any members can post messages),
but that can be changed in the future if circumstances require it.
DISCUSSION LIST COMMANDS
The easiest way to subscribe to the list and select the options is with the Lyris List Manager interface. You can find that at http://lists.sla.org. Log in as a new member. If you are already a member, just put your e-mail in the box. You shouldn't need a password.
For your convenience, here are a few of the basic commands if you don't want to use the web site:
Subscribing:
To subscribe, send an e-mail with no message and no subject line to the following address: join-sla-cpnw@lists.sla.org
Unsubscribing:
To unsubscribe, send an e-mail with no message and no subject line to the following address: leave-sla-cpnw@lists.sla.org
Posting a message:
