Our client, an established and respected producer of print and electronic products, is looking for an intelligent and creative professional with strong customer relationship skills to maintain and grow markets in Latin America and part of the US. This is an excellent opportunity to join the US and Latin American division of an international vendor.
Responsibilities:
- Sell products to new and existing customers in academic, corporate and government organizations
- Prospect and develop new customers
- Service and upsell existing accounts
- Train customers to encourage usage and customer retention
- Provide ongoing quality and value added services to accounts in order to establish additional revenue and referral sources and maximize contract renewal opportunities
- Provide reports to management including prospect lists, action plans, revenue forecasting data and trip plans, itineraries and reports
- Plan and maintain an efficient and cost effective travel schedule that coordinates and maximizes product exposure for optimal sales opportunities
- Develop and maintain an effective sales to cost ratio for travel and entertainment, promotion daily operations and marketing efforts to remain with assigned budget
- Coordinate with in-house staff to stay abreast of product development efforts, system enhancements, marketing programs and company performance
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of company products, the Internet, sci-tech trends and industry specific online services
- Provide feedback on products, pricing and service enhancements
Requirements and qualifications:
- BA or BS, MLS a plus, course work in physics or engineering a plus
- At least five years demonstrated sales success experience within the sci-tech/information community targeting large accounts
- Strong written, verbal, presentation and interpersonal communication skills
- Knowledge of Portuguese and/or Spanish required
- Strong computer skills, including PowerPoint, Excel, Word and the Internet
- Strong organizational skills, ability to manage workload with minimal supervision
- Attentive to detail
- Ability to undertake extensive travel, often involving one or more overnight stays
