Committee Definition

Seven members, one of whom is an SLA Student Member, and at least one, but not more than three, of whom has experience serving as an advisor to a recognized SLA Student Group. The Student Member is appointed for a one year term, with remaining members serving overlapping terms of three years each.

The Committee shall:

• advise the Board of Directors on programs and other aspects pertaining to student members of SLA;

• advise the Association Staff as to developments in student activities;

• strengthen and expand Association groups by working closely with faculty advisors of recognized Association Student Groups;

• work with the Association liaison officer to increase the number of student members who become full members of the Association; and

• cooperate with appropriated staff and members who are working on curriculum development in library schools.
