SARC III News
The South Atlantic Regional Conference took place in Williamsburg, Virginia the week of September 28-October 1, 2005. The Conference theme, “Experience a Timeless Information Journey: Revolution and Evolution Continue ” allowed us to look at how our lives as professionals have rapidly changed and at what we can expect if we are to stay on the cutting edge of the 21st century.
Keynote speaker, David Seaman, founding director of the Electronic Text Center at the University of Virginia Library, discussed the issues of digitization and their implications for libraries. Since 2002, he has been the director of the Digital Library Federation, a consortium of academic libraries. He has published widely on humanities computing and digital libraries.
