Workshops Designed to Help Your Job Search

Session I: "Using Networking Skills to Find a Job: Making the Most of the People You Meet"
Monday, June 8, 1:30 p.m. to 2:45 p.m.

Most people don't realize that they have an extensive network of people who can help in their job search and that this network is largely untapped. This workshop will explore ways to make effective use of this network and expand it to help in your current and future searches.

Session II: "Resumes that Get Noticed: Tips for Writing a Winning Resume"
Monday, June 8, 3:00 p.m. to 4:15 p.m.

Your resume is the one thing you have complete control over. It is the first way an employer evaluates your ability to do quality work. This workshop focuses on ways that your resume can tell a positive story about you as a prospective employee and present you as the best candidate for the job.

Session III: "Turning an Interview into a Job Offer: Interviewing Skills that Get Jobs"
Tuesday, June 9, 1:30 p.m. to 2:45 p.m.

The interview is the turning point for an interviewee to become an employee. What can you do to prepare for it, handle it well, and progress to the next level—the offer? All of these areas will be addressed during this informative session.

Session IV: "Getting What You Want: Negotiating Your Best Offer"
Wednesday, June 10, 1:00 p.m. to 2:15 p.m.

After networking, writing your resume, and interviewing, you get the job offer. Now what? In this session you'll learn ways to prepare for and handle a successful win/win negotiating situation for you and your new employer.

The workshops are all conveniently located next to the Employment Clearinghouse. If you're searching for a new job, make sure to swing by the Clearinghouse for even more useful information. Check the Final Conference Program for details.
