1:15 – 6:00 p.m.    Old Town/San Diego Tour

            This tour will take you from the Shelter Pointe Hotel to Old Town San Diego State Historic Park where you will be able to enjoy lunch at any one of several excellent Mexican restaurants.  At 3:30,  Old Town Trolley Tours will pick you up and begin a two-hour narrated tour of San Diego returning to the hotel about 6:00.  Cost $35.00 (does not include lunch but you’ll receive packet of menus).

 2:30 – 9:00 p.m.   James S. Copley Library/La Jolla

            This tour will take you from the Shelter Pointe Hotel to La Jolla (a beachside community) for a private tour of the James S. Copley Library, a research library relating to the following collections:  American Revolutionary War, The Southwest, John Charles Fremont, Jessie Benton Fremont, Robinson Jeffers, Benito Juarez, Abraham Lincoln, Samuel Clemens, Presidential correspondence, and limited edition books.  After the tour, you’ll be able to walk along the cliffs of La Jolla and enjoy dinner at any one of many fine restaurants in the downtown area, returning to the hotel about 9:00.  A packet of menus will help you choose a restaurant for dinner.  Cost $30.00 (does not include dinner).

 **Saturday, April 8th

8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.           Balboa Park Libraries/San Diego Zoo

            This tour takes you from the Shelter Pointe Hotel to Balboa Park (downtown San Diego area) where you will visit two special libraries:   Museum of Man and Museum of Art.  After a leisurely stroll (about 1 mile) to the San Diego Zoo, you’ll visit the research library for the Zoological Society of San Diego.  A delicious box lunch will be catered by the zoo and you will then be able to spend the afternoon walking throughout the zoo grounds, returning to the hotel by 5:00.  Transportation will be available if you are not able to stroll through the park.  Cost $40.00 (lunch included)
