SHARE YOUR KNOWLEDGE IN NEW YORK!

  Call for 2003 Conference Papers

Would you like to tell others how you meet your organization's information needs? Take the opportunity to share your knowledge with other information professionals, June 7-12, 2003, during SLA's Annual Conference in New York City.

You are invited to submit papers discussing the theme "Putting Knowledge to Work®." The 2003 conference is set to highlight strategies used by member organizations that reflect the association's strategic plan ­ Professionals Putting Knowledge to Work in the 21st Century. Sessions for the 2003 annual conference will focus proper attention to the association's future direction.

The Professional Papers portion of the annual conference is an excellent chance for members to share their knowledge with conference attendees. In addition, all papers will be published online on the New York 2003 Conference website. See the 2002 Annual Conference Professional Papers.

  Guidelines

August 31, 2002 - Submit an abstract to Ty Webb via e-mail at tywebb75@hotmail.com. Abstracts should be approximately 250-300 words in length.

March 16, 2003 ­ Submission deadline for the complete text of the accepted paper, as camera-ready copy, to the association office.

Length - Presentation of the paper should be no longer than 15 minutes.

Requirements

In order for a professional paper to be considered for acceptance, the following requirements apply:

· The abstract has been received by the deadline
· The author (or co-author) is a member of SLA
· The author (or co-author) commits to present the paper at the annual conference.

Abstracts will be judged on the relevance to the conference theme, substance and potential member interest. Applicants will be notified of acceptance by October 15, 2002, and will receive full instructions on format for the complete text of the professional paper.
