Welcome to the SLA 2008 Seattle Wiki!
The Pacific Northwest Chapter (PNW) of SLA is thrilled to be the host chapter for the 2008 Annual Conference!
We know that you will thoroughly enjoy your time in Seattle and the Pacific Northwest. Explore this wiki being created for your informational needs while visiting the city and the region.
There are so many things to see and do in the Emerald City and beyond. From the architecturally controversial downtown branch of the Seattle Public Library and the similarly infamous Frank Gehry Experience Music Project (EMP) to the breathtaking natural beauty of Mount Rainier, the Olympic National Park and the Puget Sound.
Seattle offers a wide range of museums and cultural activities. The Sculpture Garden is easily accessible from downtown and offers beautiful views of ferries criss-crossing Elliot Bay with the Olympic Mountains in the background. For those who enjoy life after dark, the downtown clubs and music venues are always rocking!
Seattle has a plethora of bookstores, coffee shops and shopping for those who want to take a break from the conference and explore the city's vibrant daily life.
Perched on the edge of the Pacific Rim, Seattle offers delicious and innovative restaurants exploring virtually every cuisine you might desire. With salmon swimming just outside our front door, be sure to taste some while you're here, prepared by the chefs who do it best!
What do you like to do when you are at Conference? If you can't find information about it on the wiki, email us, and we'll get it on the wiki for you. We are happy to add topics if they will be useful to our SLA guests!
Again, welcome and enjoy!
