ISLD Award

Purpose: To recognize the special efforts made by an SLA member(s) to promote and celebrate International Special Librarians Day.

Eligibility: The recognition is reserved for any individual SLA member or group of members in good standing with the association.

Criteria: Criteria for selection include: originality of idea; number of people and audiences involved; lasting value of the activity; and impact on the profession, association unit, and/or library/information center.

Nominations: Nominations may be made by any SLA member or Association staff.

Presentation: A certificate of recognition will be presented to the recipient(s) during the SLA Annual Conference.

Time Line: International Special Librarians Day April 22, 2004.

Nominations Deadline May 14, 2004

Instructions: Please complete the SLA nomination form. Attach any supporting documents you feel might be appropriate, such as written materials, graphics, clippings, flyers, photographs, etc. If possible, send five copies.

Attach a sheet describing in 500 words or less your candidate's contribution to the public relations efforts of the library/information center, profession and/or association unit during International Special Librarians Day.

Please include details on the following: originality of idea; number of people and audiences involved; lasting value of the activity; and impact on the profession, Association unit, and/or library/information center.
