About SLA Headquarters
Situated at 331 South Patrick Street in the Old Town section of Alexandria, SLA Global Headquarters is housed in a beautiful, three-story brick building that features arched gateways and Palladian windows on its façade. One side of the building faces South Patrick Street; the other faces a lovely courtyard we share with our neighbors.Our new home features comfortable workspace and meeting space for our staff, public meeting facilities – including a telecommuting center, advanced technologies, and a state-of-the-art information center that serves the research needs of our staff and membership. Each member of staff works in private office space with a view to either the neighborhood across South Patrick Street or the courtyard.
Technology advancements are an important aspect of our new home. Our network is housed in a climate-controlled facility with a redundant power backup system. Our phone systems are connected to that network, allowing our staff to manage their phone services virtually.
Our meeting space will be available for use by SLA members, industry partners, and other associations. Our conference center offers space for up to 36 people seated classroom style, or approximately 100 people for a reception. Adjacent to the conference center is a full service coffee bar with seating for up to 30 people. It’s suitable for breakout space or simply for breaks. A kitchen just down the hall from the conference center is situated perfectly for catering services. The telecommuting center, located just off the first floor lobby, gives you wired or wireless Internet access in a comfortable setting. Telephone access is also available there. Our Information Center, located on the opposite site of the lobby, can provide immediate assistance with the location of resources for your onsite meeting. And our mail center can assist you with the delivery of materials for your meeting, or the shipment of materials elsewhere.
