Candidate for Director
Chris Zammarelli has been active in the Special Libraries Association since 2005. He served as chair of the Government Information Division (DGI) in 2009 and led the division's conference planning effort for the SLA 2009 Annual Conference while serving as chair-elect. He presently serves as DGI's Webmaster, and is also a member of the Washington, D.C. Chapter.
Chris currently works as contract cataloging librarian on behalf of ATSG, LLC at the U.S. Department of State Bureau of International Information Programs. He previously worked as a project manager and client services manager at LAC Group, and as cataloging librarian on behalf of InfoCurrent at the National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration Central Library.
As a graduate student at the University of Maryland's College of Information Studies, Chris wrote a master's thesis about the use of Web 2.0 tools and other advanced content on state government Websites titled "Advanced Content In State E-Government: Criteria for Evaluation." He has also contributed to Best Practices for Government Libraries, Revolting Librarians Redux, and Codslap!, the magazine for the Library Society of the World. With his wife, he writes extensively about the Eurovision Song Contest on their blog, Eurovision Lemurs.
