SLA Authorization to Reprint
It is the policy of the Special Libraries Association, where authorization to reprint an article has been granted, to require that certain conditions are followed.
To ensure that proper credit is provided for a copyrighted SLA article, certain conditions have been established and unless otherwise agreed in writing must be addressed to without exception.
Authorization is granted to prepare reprints of an article copyrighted by SLA (identify title and author) subject to the following conditions:
- The authorization is for only one reprinting
- There will be no change in text or illustrations, or other modification of original presentation, except by written permission.
- The reprint must carry the following credit line: Reprinted from (Title of Source), (Volume and Number if appropriate) _________ - _________ pp. (Month, year) © by the Special Libraries Association. (Note: The credit line may be typed before using photo-reproduction methods.)
- The reprints may not be used in any manner that would imply endorsement of any product or service by the Association.
- It is understood that the reprints will not be offered for sale, or included in any publication offered for sale, unless prior agreement has been negotiated, and will be distributed only by the organization to whom this reprint authorization is granted.
- Two copies of the completed reprint will be forwarded to Special Libraries Association for its files and that SLA will be advised of the number of reprints produced.
The Executive Director, as Publisher is responsible for administering this policy.
