SPECIAL LIBRARIES ASSOCIATION CANADIAN PRIORITIES
1. That SLA support the legislative efforts in Canada which parallel or are of similar importance to those made in the United States on behalf of U.S. members be expressed as a commitment and adopted as a principle of the organization.
2. That SLA brochures and pamphlets be worded in a manner equally appropriate to U.S. and Canadian audiences or, alternatively, that SLA prepare Canadian editions of its pamphlets and brochures for use by Canadian chapters.
3. That SLA continue to present continuing education programs in Canadian regions, and that the content and scheduling of CE programs be determined in consultation with Chapter representatives no later than August each year.
4. That the SLA office allow additional time for all mailings to reach Canadian members of the Association.
5. That SLA examine the problems of trans-border inter-library loans and of trans-border data flow as they affect or are likely to affect special libraries, both in Canada and the United States.
6. That the Association's editor continue to encourage Canadian members to contribute to the Association's recognized journal.
7. That SLA continue to consult with the Canadian Library Association when setting the date for the annual conference so that it does not overlap with their conferences.
