Buzzy Basch is President of Basch Subscriptions, and The Reference Shelf in Concord, New Hampshire. He has a BS and an MBA from Washington University in St. Louis, and is a member of the University’s National Library Council.
A Fellow of SLA, Buzzy has many years of active participation at the Chapter, Division, and national levels of the Association. He has just completed two years on the Association’s Finance Committee, and has served as Northern Outreach Chair for the Boston Chapter, and as Treasurer of the ITE Division. Buzzy has chaired the SLA Public Relations Committee and the Leadership Management Division, and served on the Board as Division Director. At the chapter level, he has been Treasurer of the Illinois Chapter, Student Coordination Chair for the New York Chapter, and the ITE New York City group leader.
With strong financial and library and information industry experience, Buzzy has also served on the American Library Association’s finance and publishing committees, and was elected to two terms as Treasurer of the American Society for Information Science (now ASIST).
