

Robyn retired from the federal government in September 2005, where she enjoyed over 34 years as a career federal librarian.
From 2002-2005, as Director of Library and Research Services for the Executive Office of the President (U.S.), Robyn spearheaded a library reinvention effort that resulted in enhanced products and services. Additionally she served on the Federal Executive Board of the Federal Library and Information Center Committee (FLICC).
From 1998-2002, Robyn worked at the Congressional Research Service, Library of Congress where she was involved in the creation of new centralized information resource centers that served CRS analysts. She also conducted a benchmarking study of best practices in special libraries.
For over 25 years (beginning in 1973), Robyn created and developed specialized information centers on various topical areas such as Food and Nutrition at the National Agricultural Library. She began her library career in 1969, setting up an educational research information center for the District of Columbia Public Schools and pilot testing the DIALOG system using ERIC.
In addition Robyn has served as a research associate with Chris Olson & Associates in two corporate library reinvention projects. She has authored the Directory of Food and Nutrition Information and Resources (Oryx Press) and was the original editor of the Journal of Agricultural and Food Information (Haworth Press).
Robyn has been active in the Food, Agriculture, and Nutrition Division, serving as chair, awards chair, secretary, and long range strategic planning committee chair. In 1991 she received the FAN Distinguished Member Award. Robyn is also a member of the Leadership and Management Division, the News Division, and the Baseball Caucus. In 1992-94, she served on the SLA Public Relations Committee. She is a member of the Washington, DC Chapter.
Robyn is a Senior Fellow with the Council of Excellence in Government. Both her BS (Home Economics) and MLS degrees are from the University of Maryland.
Robyn and her husband, Steve, live in Fulton, Maryland, and enjoy visits from their three daughters and two granddaughters. Favorite hobbies include traveling, reading, and watching the Baltimore Orioles play baseball.
