Janice C. Anderson has more than 35 years experience in information management. In 1985, driven by her desire to provide the highest quality client service, Anderson founded Access Sciences Corporation, originally known as Access Information Associates. Today, she serves as CEO and Chair of the Board of Directors and continues to work hand in hand with clients to manage their information resources.
Anderson is a member of the Special Libraries Association (SLA), American Library Association (ALA), Association for Information and Image Management (AIIM), Library and Information Technology Association (LITA), and the Association of Records Managers and Administrators (ARMA). Her service to Special Libraries Association began in 1988 when she chaired the Consultants Section of the Library Management Division. Since then she served as Bulletin Editor of the Petroleum and Energy Resources Division, the Texas Chapter First Vice President/Bulletin Editor, President-Elect and President, the SLA Board of Directors as Chapter Cabinet Chair Elect and Chair, followed by Nominating Committee member and later chair of that committee. Most recently, Anderson served as Chair Elect/Program Planner and Chair of the Petroleum and Energy Resources Division. She has also been active with the Houston Chapter of ARMA, serving on the Board as Vice President of Outreach, Vice President of Communication, and Vice President of Conference.
Anderson has been a speaker at conferences at association and chapter levels for SLA, ARMA and AIIM, plus Managing Electronic Records (MER). She has authored numerous articles and white papers for industry related publications and has received recognition for her contributions to SLA's Texas Chapter with the Texas Star Award in 1997 and ARMA Houston's Outstanding Service Award in 2005.
Anderson's civic involvement includes chairing the Board of Technology For All, a 501(c)(3) organization focused on empowering low-income and under-resourced communities through the tools of technology. She has also served as member and chair of numerous committees at her church.
A graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, Anderson also received a Master of Science degree in library science from Florida State University. In her spare time she enjoys singing in the choir, spending time with her family, including five grandchildren, and traveling.
