Member Profile
SLA represents information professionals who collect, analyze, evaluate, package and disseminate information to facilitate strategic decision-making. SLA's members work for corporations, private companies, government agencies, not-for-profit organizations, technical and academic institutions, museums, law firms, and medical facilities.

Organizational Structure
59 chapters in the U.S., Caribbean, Canada, Europe, Sub-Saharan Africa, Australia and New Zealand, the Arabian Gulf, and Asia; 25 divisions representing a variety of professional interests; and 10 caucuses for members sharing a common interest.

Leadership
SLA is governed by a 14-member Board of Directors elected by the membership. The Association has numerous standing committees and special committees that are established by the SLA Board of Directors. Chapters and divisions also elect leaders to oversee their activities.
