2009 SLA Leadership Summit

Dialog Continues Its Silver Sponsorship

Alexandria, Virginia, December 18, 2008 - Special Libraries Association (SLA) announced today that Dow Jones & Company has pledged its support as the Gold Sponsor, and Dialog has signed on as the Silver Sponsor, for the upcoming SLA Leadership Summit, to be held January 14-17 in Savannah, Georgia. Dialog is a member of the ProQuest family which will also serve as a supporting sponsor of the meeting.

The two-day summit offers attendees the opportunity to enhance management and leadership skills that apply to both their careers and to their work within the association. Information professionals will engage in group learning and skill-building exercises designed to push attendee's thinking and improve their leadership and management skills.

"Dow Jones and Dialog continually demonstrate their support of SLA and information professionals by underwriting important learning opportunities such as the SLA Leadership Summit," said SLA Chief Executive Officer Janice R. Lachance. "Through their generous support of SLA, our members enjoy and benefit from exceptional programs and speakers that get better and better each year. SLA appreciates the dedication of our sponsors to the future of the association and the profession, and we cannot overstate the value their contributions bring to this summit."

As the 2009 Gold Sponsor, Dow Jones is supporting the Keynote Address by Stephen McGarvey, a leading authority on unconscious communication, persuasion and influence. In working with numerous Fortune 500 companies in a variety of sectors, McGarvey has helped corporations and audiences around the world solve difficult communications problems. McGarvey has helped solve corporate communications problems and improved performance internationally through his work with sales, marketing, and leadership teams. He has been described by his clients as producing extraordinary, sustainable business results. McGarvey's Thursday morning presentation at the summit, Leadership and Communication in a Time of Change, will be followed by an interactive session, Developing YOUR Role in Communicating Change, that afternoon with summit attendees.

Dow Jones' sponsorship also supports other events at the SLA Leadership Summit, including the Board of Directors meeting coffee breaks and Summit Luncheon. Dialog is again supporting the SLA Leadership Breakfast on the second day of the summit.
