RECOGNIZING DEMONSTRATED ACHIEVEMENTS:
SARC CALLS FOR MERIT AWARD NOMINATIONS

Washington, D.C., March 19, 2004 — Nominations are now being accepted for the SLA Student Academic Relations Committee (SARC) Certificate of Merit Awards. Each year, SARC seeks to recognize and award the active development and participation of student members through their involvement in Student Group activities. In addition, SARC seeks to acknowledge the contributions of SLA Chapters and Divisions in support and participation of Student Group nurturing and development.

Any SLA Unit or Student Group adviser, officer, or member may nominate a Student Group or Chapter and Division for a SARC Certificate of Merit.

The Committee will determine the winners based on application guidelines and criteria. Merit Award Winners will be announced in April, and officially recognized at the 2004 Annual Conference in Nashville, TN, June 5-10, 2004.

The deadline for nominations is March 26, 2004. Certificate of Merit Awards Guidelines for Student Groups and Chapters and Divisions are located on the SARC Web site at http://www.sla.org/committee/sarc/merit.htm. For additional information, contact Diana Gonzales in the SLA membership department at 1-202-939-3671 or via email at dgonzales@sla.org.
