SLA ANNOUNCES BOARD ELECTION RESULTS
UNC’s Rebecca Vargha to be President-Elect

Alexandria, Virginia, 17 March 2005 – The Special Libraries Association (SLA) announced the results of its 2005 Board of Directors elections today.

Rebecca Vargha, the Librarian at the School of Information and Library Science at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, was elected to serve as the association’s next President-Elect. She will serve as SLA President beginning in June 2006.

Vargha and other newly-elected board members will be installed to the SLA Board of Directors at the association’s 96th Annual Conference in Toronto, 5-8 June. Others elected include:

Chapter Cabinet Chair-Elect:

Anne Caputo, Director, Learning & Knowledge Programs, Factiva, Washington, D.C.

Division Cabinet Chair-Elect:

Agnes Mattis, Head, Corporate Library, Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, New York.

At-Large Directors:

Cindy Romaine, Corporate Archivist, Nike, Beaverton, Oregon USA;

Roberto Sarmiento, Head Librarian, Transportation Library, Northwestern University, Evanston, Illinois USA.
