A new visual identity can only be effective when all parts of the Association are committed to implementation. Your cooperation in the process of integrating the new logo into your unit's communications tools is greatly appreciated.
The logo, as it is currently available, includes one tag line. Additional tag lines will be made available in the coming weeks. These will be used to create flexibility in positioning the Association for various audiences.
You may now download the new logo on the SLA Web site at http://www.sla.org/content/SLA/pressroom/SLAlogos.cfm. Depending on the design work you're doing, you have the flexibility of using EPS, TIF, GIF, and JPG formats, in both color and black and white. Modifications will be made as time passes, to allow for tag line flexibility and other factors.
To ensure the broadest possible use of the new visual identity, SLA offers the following guidance:
- You must use the new Association visual identity on all SLA unit websites, newsletters, and other media created for communication with SLA members, partners or publics. This does NOT preclude the use of other visual imagery, such as that used to create a unique look for your unit.
- The Association visual identity should be placed at the head (top) of your unit's Web site, newsletter, or other communications tools. You have flexibility in the placement on the header, but SLA recommends placement in the upper left, upper center, or upper right positions of the header for your communications tools.
- If your current communications tools do not employ the use of the previous SLA logo, please make appropriate changes in order to adopt the new visual identity into them.
- A new style guide will be posted to the SLA Web site in the coming days. You will be notified once it is posted.
- If you would like consultation or actual assistance in the design of your unit's communications tools, contact Constance Denning, SLA's staff graphic designer, (cdenning@sla.org, or telephone +1.703.647.4920) for more details.
- If you have questions regarding implementation of these guidelines, contact Jeff Leach, Director, Marketing (jleach@sla.org, or +1.703.647.4922).
SLA staff stands ready to assist you in any way to deliver on this initiative. Thank you for your patience and commitment to making the Association's brand strong and effective.
