It’s a New Day at SLA!
It’s a New Day at SLA!

This past January, the SLA Board of Directors adopted a new policy to "do business as" SLA, after 95 years of publicly operating as the Special Libraries Association. This action by the Board is an exciting move in the spirit of our new mission, vision, and core values statements. It flows directly from the Association's desire to be more global in perspective, and builds on the recent steps we've taken to make SLA more attractive to international audiences.

The result is apparent the moment you arrived at www.sla.org. Please take note of our updated logo and overall visual identity. Over the coming weeks and months, we will be integrating the new visual identity into our publications, e-newsletters, advertising, exhibit imagery, our new headquarters building, and many other facets of our work.

We will continue to operate legally and financially as Special Libraries Association, because that is still the Association's official name.

As always, we encourage your feedback! So please send your thoughts and suggestions on our new visual identity to communications@sla.org. For additional information on this initiative, contact John Crosby at 202.939.3629; email: jcrosby@sla.org.

Sincerely,

Janice R. Lachance
