"Is use of information in digital formats displacing use of other media?" asks Amy Friedlander of the Council on Library and Information Resources. Not likely. Her summary of a CLIR/DLF survey, designed to better understand library usage patterns at academic institutions, suggests that intensive consumers of information will seek it in whatever formats and media are available.
     
     
54 69th IFLA General Conference and Council
Forty-five thousand participants from 133 countries came to the 69th International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions General Conference and Council held in Berlin, Germany, this past August to share views, exchange ideas and network globally. With the theme of "Access Point Library: Media-Information-Culture," committee members highlight activities within their sections.
