Time Management for the Information Professional
Have you made any New Year's resolutions about productivity? Do you need some pointers to help you avoid procrastination? (Don't we all?) Take a look at "A Very Short Course in Time Management for Librarians," an article by Judy Siess in the just-released Fall 2005 issue of IMPACT!, the quarterly publication of SLA's Leadership and Management Division. There are several strategies for helping us negotiate multiple tasks and making the most of the workday, plus suggestions for more in-depth reading. Read more.
What's a Wiki?
You've probably heard the word, but you may not know how a wiki works. In "Making the Case for a Wiki," Emma Tonkin describes ways that wikis are used and features of different software applications. Read this article from the January 2005 issue of Ariadne before attending the January 25th Click U Live! seminar on collaborating through wikis. Read more.

| MEMBER PROFILES |
Information Outlook®is planning a series of articles that will profile an information professional in every issue, starting in January or February.
We're looking for people who are doing interesting work -- or who might have something interesting in his or her background. For example, the June 2005 issue of the magazine featured an info pro who also owns a book store in Toronto.
The only restrictions: They should have interesting stories to tell, and they must be SLA members.
You probably know people who would make a good profile in Information Outlook®. If you do, SLA's publications director, John T. Adams III, wants to hear from you. You can e-mail him at jadams@sla.org. Include a sentence or two about why you think we should write about why you are suggesting them -- plus their contact information.
