Technical Information
SLA Web Page Hosting Request Form
The SLA Web Page Hosting Request form must be completed in order to receive
web space on the SLA Internet Server. The request form must be completed by
the Unit Leader (i.e. Chapter President, Division Chair, Caucus Convener, etc).
There is a limit of one ftp account per unit.
Access to SLA Internet Server
Each unit will receive one FTP account on the SLA Internet Server. This account is to be used only for placing or removing web pages on the SLA Server. Editing of the unit's web pages should be done remotely, then transfered to the SLA Internet Server. SLA does not supply HTML authoring/editing software.
SLA Headquarters will provide the FTP account information (username and password) once the Web Page Hosting Request has been approved. The username and password will be issued to the Unit Leadership who, in turn, can maintain their own web pages or have someone else within the unit maintain the pages. However, the Unit Leadership will be held responsible for any misuse of the account. Misuse of accounts given out on the SLA Internet Server will result in that account and the unit maintaining the account being removed from the system.
The user account will have access rights only to its home directory where the web pages to be maintain will be located. This directory will be in the following format:
/unit-type/unit-code
