Q: What is Career Connection?
A: Career Connection links employers with the hottest jobs to the most talented information professionals anywhere to quickly arrange for in-person interviews during SLA Annual Conference.

Keep in mind that Career Connection is not a scheduling application. Instead, it works on the simple premise that employers and job seekers just need to "connect" with each other in order to set up a convenient face-to-face conversation.

Q: How do I post my Career Connection job?
A: Posting your Career Connection job is incredibly simple! If your company already has an account with SLA's Career Center, just click here to login. (If your company does not yet have an account with the Career Center, click here to register and receive your login and password info by e-mail.) Once you are logged in and on the HR Manager menu, click on

"Post a Job" and then email careercenter@sla.org letting us know posting is done and staff will update logo on your posting Once you have filled in all requested information on the position, you can post the job and pay (by credit card only) for the listing.

Q: Okay, there's the magic word. What do I pay to use Career Connection?
A: Actually, less than you might think. Career Connection positions are only US$ 175 each, and will be listed on the SLA Web site for 60 days. Since a 60-day posting is normally $300, you save US$ 125 and receive the added benefit of making easy connections with potential hires during SLA's Annual Conference. What a deal!

NOTE: Job seekers never pay to use the Career Center or Career Connection.

Q: Here's a question. What if I'm not going to be present at the Annual Conference to conduct interviews?
A: Well, Career Connection is specifically designed to help employers "connect" with candidates for face-to-face meetings during the Annual Conference. However, if you'd like to make sure your hot job receives maximum exposure during SLA Annual Conference, you can post it to Career Connection. We encourage you, however, to make it clear in the job description that you will not be available for interviews at conference.

Q: How will I know if someone has applied for my Career Connection job?
A: Job seekers are strongly encouraged to apply for jobs electronically. All Career Connection jobseekers submitting an electronic application will have the following text included in their e-mails:

Applicant is requesting an interview at Career Connection.

From there, you can simply contact the job seekers directly to schedule an interview. That's it! It's so simple!

Q: What if I need to post a job on-site during SLA's Annual Conference?
A: No problem! Just drop by our Career Connection Center at Conference to post your Career Connection position online! (Check the Final Conference Program for information on Career Connection hours and location.) You can also use the Career Connection as an initial meeting point with job seekers.
