Q: What is Career Connection?
A: SLA's Career Connection links employers with the hottest jobs to the most talented information professionals anywhere to quickly arrange for in-person interviews during SLA's Annual Conference.

Keep in mind that Career Connection is not a scheduling application. Instead, it works on the simple premise that employers and job seekers just need to "connect" with each other in order to set up a convenient face-to-face conversation.

Q: How do I locate Career Connection jobs?
A: Locating Career Connection jobs is incredibly simple! Just click here to view all jobs in the Career Center. Career Connection jobs will appear with unique "C" logo in the search results. If you prefer to see only Career Connection jobs, click here to access the "Advanced Search" page, and check the "Search only Career Connection jobs" box to view those results.

Q: What do I pay to use Career Connection?
A: You will be pleased to know that job seekers never pay to use the Career Center or Career Connection.

Q: Will all Career Connection employers be conducting interviews in at conference?
A: Not necessarily. While Career Connection is specifically designed to help employers "connect" with candidates for face-to-face meetings during the Annual Conference, some employers may post their jobs to the service to make sure they receive maximum exposure with conference attendees. We've advised employers to indicate clearly in their job descriptions whether they will be available for face-to-face meeting at the annual conference, so please review all Career Connection job descriptions carefully.

Q: How will an employer know that I've applied for a job through Career Connection?
A: You must apply for jobs electronically and you must indicate your interest in meeting face-to-face at annual conference under "Employer's Questions" on the electronic application form. All Career Connection job seekers will have the following text included in their electronic applications:

Applicant is requesting an interview at Career Connection.

From there, employers will contact you directly to schedule interviews. That's it! It's so simple!

Q: How can I view jobs posted on-site during SLA's Annual Conference?
A: You should visit our Career Connection Center to view the hottest jobs posted to the system! (Check the Final Conference Program for information on Career Connection hours.) You can also use the Career Connection as an initial meeting point with employers.

Q: What if I have questions about Career Connection?
A: If you are having a technology challenge, please click here to send an e-mail or call 1-888-491-8833 for tech support.

If you have specific questions about Career Connection contact Professional Development Center at +1.703.647.4925 or careercenter@sla.org.
