How much does a company profile or news item tell you about an organization's management and its strengths, vulnerabilities, hot buttons, drivers, tendencies, and likely moves? What else can you and your organization do to understand and anticipate the management actions of your competitors, suppliers, or customers? How can you design more advanced management research efforts and deliver better results? Join us for discussions and exercises as we learn how to turn research into intelligence through key management analysis techniques including Four Corners and Blindspots. We will examine how analysis frameworks shape research, hot to select the right framework, how to apply key frameworks, and more.

This certificate course and curriculum is designed and delivered through Knowledge inForm, Inc.

Prerequisite: Participants enrolled in the "Core" and Dual Competitive Intelligence Certificates are recommended to complete the online course, Competitive Intelligence Analysis: Fundamental Frameworks (CIC-08), on Click University.

Course Level: Intermediate - Concepts beyond the scope of fundamentals for practitioners at all experience levels.

Course Duration/Tuition: Full-day (8 hours)

Course Learning Objectives

At the end of this course, participants will understand key fundamental techniques that can enhance their understanding of managers and organizational managment. When presented with intelligence managment questions, issues, and problems, participants will be able to support intelligence needs and outline possible solutions to management intelligence questions.

Specific Learning Outcomes:

  1. Choose the appropriate management analysis framework for an organization's intelligence issue.
  2. Employ techniques to better understand competitors' management drivers and how they make decisions, and better anticipate how competitors will respond in the marketplace.
  3. Uncover competitors' and other organizations' competitive blindspots in order to understand their weaknesses, vulnerabilities, and potential missteps.
  4. Apply knowledge and intelligence about competitors' managment to boost an organization's competitiveness.
  5. Employ techniques to better understand one's own organization's management, strategy, and vulnerabilities.
  6. Assess the strengths and weaknesses of each technique covered and how to address inherent advantages and limitations of these models.
  7. Utilize analytical principles and models to support intelligence project planning and research efforts.

Participants will develop skills and abilities according to professional competencies outlined by Knowledge inForm.

Performance Measure:  Exercises and discussions will measure and evaluate the degree of understanding that participants achieve over the learning process.
