Text Mining

Part I
Unlocking Knowledge from Text

November 15, 2005

Description
Text mining applies linguistic and statistical analyses to textual data (e-mail, documents, forms, transcribed audio, and the like) to automate processing and derive predictive power from previously untapped information sources. It builds on content management and search technologies to help enterprises move beyond knowledge management to knowledge analytics.

Part I of this two-part seminar will discuss business contexts and examine foundation technologies.

Attendees will understand the business problems text mining can solve; learn how text mining software integrates with and complements content management, search, and business intelligence technologies; and survey best practices for evaluating and implementing text mining solutions
