Seminar Description
Many of our organizations possess information in paper-based or analog formats that are difficult to search or share. Even as we have moved to creating and sharing materials digitally, there are important materials that need to be accessed that are not in a digital format.
Through this Webinar, participants will understand how a digitization program can be used to increase access to important information by creating a digital library, institutional repository or knowledge management system. Emphasis will be placed on how requirements are defined, goals set, resources delineated, and plans put into place.
Who Should Attend?
- Information professionals who need to understand the impact that digitization can have on their organizations.
- Information managers who have been asked to provide increased paper-based or analog collections.
- Anyone involved in digitization and who needs to understand more about it.
Critical Learning Questions
- How do you decide if your organization can benefit from a digitization program?
- What short-term and long-term goals should you consider when embarking on a digitization program?
- What types of resources are needed and how can you gain access to them?
- What plans must be put into place?
- How do you define success?
