The Special Libraries Association awarded Claire R. McInerney its 1997 Steven I. Goldspiel Memorial Research Grant. The primary objective of McInerney's project, "Using Information in the Virtual Office: How Special Libraries are Serving Telecommuters," was to appraise the progress of special libraries and special librarians in serving their organizations, through managing the information needs of telecommuters. McInerney's research findings are consequential to not only those who use and staff special libraries, but also corporate leaders who face the challenge of managing their organization's knowledge resources. The results are available as a monograph from SLA publications under the title Providing Data, Information and Knowledge to the Virtual Office. McInerney's 1999 SLA Annual Conference presentation is available at http://faculty-staff.ou.edu/M/Claire.R.Mc-Inerney-1/Sla99/
