Jennifer Robin Fick has earned both a B.A. in Linguistics from the University of Boston and a M.A. in Linguistics from the University of Chicago. She is currently enrolled in the Library Information Services Program at the University of Maryland, College Park. Jennifer is also employed by Library Associates in Rockville, Maryland, and is excited about how information professionals fit into the organization's mission. She feels that her work is directly connected with the success of AFY's programs. Jennifer is interested in a career in public health organizations where she can "serve the greater good by providing information to internal and external stakeholders."
Brettany N. Johnson graduated from the University of Alberta, Edmonton in May 2005 with a Bachelor's Degree in Education. She began work on her library degree at the School of Library and Information Studies (SLIS) at the University of Alberta in the fall of 2005. She is a member of SLA and has joined the Leadership & Management Division, including the Consulting Section, the Knowledge Management Section and the Marketing Section. Brettany is member of the Graduate Student Association representing the SLIS program. In the summer of 2005, Brettany planned and developed an engineering library for EPCOR Water Services. The initial "library" grew from one small bookcase to over 3,000 cataloged items. The initial summer project was so successful that Brettany is now employed part time to continue work on the facility. Planning a library from the ground up "has been a unique and exciting learning experience which has given me a special appreciation for the role of librarians and information professionals in a corporate context."
Ari Kleiman received a B.A. in Foreign Language and Literature and is currently enrolled in the
Affirmative Action Scholarship
Candice Anne Wing-Yee Mack received a B.A. in Psychology from the University of California-Riverside and is currently enrolled in the Graduate School of Education and Information Studies at the University of California-Los Angeles. She is a member of the SLA Southern California Chapter and the SLA Biomedical & Life Sciences Division, as well as ALA, CLA, MLA, and MLGSCA. She has previously worked in interlibrary loans at the Tomas Rivera Library at the University of California-Riverside and is currently a library specialist for interlibrary loan and document delivery at Cedars-Sinai Medical Library in Los Angeles. She has been involved with the UC Riverside's Highlander newspaper, and was music director at KUCR, the campus radio station. She is currently active with Killradio.org, a non-profit community internet radio station whose mission is to further the self-determination of people under-represented in media production and content. Candice is "eager to bring my skills to task, joining SLA in advancing the field of library and information science."
