Q. How do I Join SLA?
A. Select Join SLA from the navigation bar at the top of any page within the SLA Web site. Select JOIN NOW BY MAIL OR FAX or JOIN NOW ONLINE. If you chose "online" complete the application form as instructed. If you live outside the United States, membership dues may now be paid by check in €, £, CAN$, and AUS$. After completing the Mail/FAX version of the application form, submit electronically or print the PDF version and fax it to +1-703-647-4901 and/or mail it, with payment, to SLA, PO Box 75338, Baltimore, MD 21275.
Q. How do I change my address?
A. Login using your user id and enter your password. To enter your changes, click on "Update Your Information" found in the drop down menu of the MEMBERSHIP section found on the navigation bar. Click on "Save Your Changes." Another page will appear with a message that says, "Your Profile has been updated with the following information." Click here to change now.
Q. What are the Member Benefits?
A. To learn about SLA Member Benefits, click on the Member Benefits navigation bar in the MEMBERSHIP section.
Q. What do I do if I have questions about the receipt of my Membership payment and how long does it take to process?
A. Send your request to membership@sla.org. For mail in payments, please allow 7-10 business days for the payment to reach the database. For e-mail, fax and call in payments, please allow 4-7 business days for the payment to reach the database. Memberships are processed in the order in which they were received. Online payments are instant and real-time.
Q. Can I renew my membership by using my credit card?
A. Yes, you can visit http://www.sla.org/content/membership/renewal/index.cfm or download application form. You may also call +1-703-647-4900 and/or you can fax the information to +1-703-647-4901 or e-mail the information to membership@sla.org.
Q. Can I add extra chapters, divisions and or caucuses during the year?
A. Yes, chapters and divisions are $20 each and caucuses are $12 each. Yes, you can visit http://www.sla.org/content/membership/renewal/index.cfm or download form to add/remove. You can call with a credit card +1.703.647.4936, or you can mail a check to SLA, PO Box 75338, Baltimore, MD 21275.
Q. How can I be sure that I am receiving all information?
A. The best and easiest way to do this is to keep your member profile updated with correct information such as your current address and e-mail. You can update your member profile at your convenience by using your user id and password.
Q. Can I transfer my membership to someone else?
A. Yes, if the membership type is "Organizational."
