Value of Special Libraries
Value of Special Libraries

Drs. Paul B. Kantor and Tefko Saracevic examined the value of special libraries in their report, "Studying the Value of Information Services in Special Libraries and Information Centers," completed in December 1997. This study used scale questions as the basis for open probes to discern the dimension of value that users perceive in their library and information services. These responses have been classified, according to a taxonomy developed in earlier studies. Ten libraries were studied, through a total of 218 interviews. Findings from the technical report are available as Valuing Special Libraries and Information Services from the Information CenterĀ atĀ resources@sla.org.
