SLA member Ruth Holst has been elected president-elect of the Medical Library Association, an educational organization with more than 4,000 members around the globe.
Holst is associate director of the Greater Midwest Region of the National Network of Libraries of Medicine, a position responsible for coordinating programs that provide information to health care professionals and the public throughout the Midwest. Since 2002 she has been based at the Library of the Health Sciences at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC), one of eight regional medical libraries within the National Network of Libraries of Medicine.
