Faculty and doctoral students in China are interested in joining their counterparts from the United States and Europe on the global research stage and would benefit from assistance from librarians in doing so, according to a study of the behaviors of researchers on three continents.
The study, by Proquest, builds on a study from 2008 that showcased graduate researcher behavior in the United States and Europe. The latest study, of graduate students and researchers in China, compared and contrasted major fields of research, preferred means of communication between peers and with faculty, social networking sites used, the degree of interest in reviewing research with scholars in other geographic locations, the degree of interest in publishing research in other geographic locations, and conference involvement.
