This pilot study examines the reasons behind senior management's decisions to outsource library services and its impact on information delivery. Findings expose some of the myths and downsides of outsourcing while highlighting the essential role the corporate library plays in providing strategic information, and reveals the challenge for librarians to develop and implement strategies to counter the inconsistencies and discrepancies inherent in outsourcing library operations.
