Write for SLA Publishing

Why would you want to write for SLA? The most important reason is that you would be making a valuable contribution to your profession. Sharing your expertise and opinions with others in your field not only contributes to special librarianship, but also provides you with professional recognition.

SLA Publishing welcomes your book proposals on a wide range of issues related to the information profession. To help us learn more about your project, your proposal should include:

  • the book's working title, all authors' names, addresses, phone numbers, and E-mail addresses
  • a clear statement of the book's subject
  • a description of the book's key features
  • a description of the book's primary and secondary audience
  • an assessment of the book's position in the market, including a list of competing titles
  • the manuscript's probable number of pages and completion date
  • an outline of the book
  • a sample chapter from the book (preferred, but not essential)
  • a CV or biographical sketch from each author

Feel free to include any other information that can help us understand the project. We will review your proposal carefully and be in touch with you promptly.
