Some Libraries Still Open Despite Shutdown

Some U.S. Government libraries and information centers are still operating even though most federal offices and functions are closed pending the approval of a budget for fiscal year 2014.

As a courtesy to all SLA members, the SLA Government Information Division is maintaining a list of federal libraries and their current operating status. If you work at a federal library and would like to add it to the list, please contact George Franchois, chair-elect of the Government Information Division, at george_franchois@ios.doi.gov.

SLA is hoping for a swift resolution of the budget impasse so that all federal libraries and information centers can reopen soon.
