SLA Strikes Partnership with Phoenix Translations

Alexandria, VA, July 31, 2013 – SLA members who use third parties to translate business, legal, medical, research and other technical documents will benefit from a new partnership between their professional association and Phoenix Translations, a certified provider of technical translation services with more than 50 years of experience supporting prominent organizations worldwide.

Specific SLA member benefits of the partnership include exclusive 5% discounts on all translations, no additional charge for rush orders, no charge for certification, and free estimates.

“Translation services are beneficial to many professionals in many industries. They are especially useful for information professionals responsible for large amounts of information in a variety of languages in reliable, trusted, and sometimes submission-ready formats,” said Janice Lachance, SLA’s chief executive officer. “This partnership enhances the way in which we serve the information industry by giving all current SLA members an exclusive, longstanding customer status with a leader in this area.  We are pleased to bring this reputable partner closer to one of its core markets.”

“We’ve been serving SLA members for years.  This partnership, however, is an innovative way for us to support the work of SLA financially while extending more benefits to SLA members.  That makes this mutually beneficial and that is important to us,” said Sandy Parker, general manager of Phoenix Translations.  “Phoenix Translations will transfer 3% of every transaction from SLA members back to SLA.”

The partnership will also give Phoenix Translations the opportunity to develop lasting relationships with SLA members around the world in core areas such as law, business, biomedicine, chemistry, pharmaceuticals, and more.
