SLA 2022: Hardship Financial Assistance
SLA is making financial assistance available to provide up to 25 eligible members with free registration for the 2022 virtual conference experience.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for hardship assistance, you must meet all of the following criteria:
- Current membership in SLA (Not a member? Join today!)
- Employment status and funding limitations that match one of these categories:
- Unemployed
- If furloughed, no funding is available from the employer
- If employed, no funding is available from the employer
- Unable to financially self-fund registration
Priority consideration will be given to those who are presenting at SLA 2022 and have not previously received SLA conference assistance.
Applicant Information
You must provide the following information:
- Whether you are presenting at the annual conference
- Name and contact information of your current or former employer
- Justification or information relevant to employment status and funding availability
- Previous SLA annual conference financial assistance
Selection Criteria and Process
Applications will be reviewed in the order they are received. Decisions to approve financial assistance are at the discretion of the review committee. SLA’s objective is to provide a reply within 2-3 weeks of the application.
If hardship assistance is awarded, the applicant must be current with membership dues and accept the offer within 14 days of notification. Those who accept hardship awards will receive a unique enrollment code to complete the registration process for a free virtual registration. Refunds will not be given to awardees who are already registered as part of an institutional registration or individual registration.
Hardship assistance is non-transferable and cannot be applied to in-person registration. Complimentary SLA 2022 registration is not subject to tax (i.e., no need for W9/1099 filing).
Please note that funding for the hardship registrations is limited and designed to support those individuals with genuine significant hardship. If you can afford to self-fund your registration, please consider letting others apply.
