For communities that have negotiated sponsorships or payments that are designated only for members of that community, how will they be kept separate from general programming funds?

Funds will not be kept separate, but SLA will continue to honor commitments communities have made to named awards. SLA will continue to fund all activities that communities have been hosting in the past.

How should communities should handle fundraising for local charities?

If you are planning a fundraising activity in support of a local charity, please place the event on the SLA calendar and contact Kathy Bradley.

If a community holds a fundraiser to send a member to the Annual Conference, how would that work with the new banking/reimbursement model?

SLA communities should reach out to Kathy Bradley, kbradley@sla.org to let her know the community is putting on a fundraising for this purpose. The SLA team can work with your community directly on acknowledging supporters, invoicing, and collections for the scholarship.

How should communities request payment for conference awards, stipends, or scholarships?

View step by step guidance on the process for conference awards, stipends, or scholarships.
