Conference Re-envisioning Task Force – Talk to Us!

The Conference Re-envisioning Task Force needs your input!  The Annual Conference is being influenced by social media, changes in membership and members’ expectations, as well as professional and economic pressures. How do we best re-envision the SLA Conference experience to meet these challenges? The Task Force has several sub-teams looking at the following areas:

·         Member Engagement

·         Logistics

·         Content

·         Vendor Engagement

·         International

·         Online

Members of the Conference Re-envisioning Task Force will be in attendance in SLA-San Diego and are hoping to gather your input first hand!  A table and bulletin board will be set up in the vicinity of the Registration area for attendees to stop and leave a comment or have a conversation with one of the Task Force members.

Won’t be at conference or don’t know if you’ll have a chance to talk to us? Email your suggestions to slacrtf@gmail.com Please pass this email address along to your colleagues and other unit members whether they are, or are not, attending the Annual Conference. We want to garner as many creative ideas as possible.

And, to ensure that everyone has an opportunity to provide input, a post-Conference survey will be sent to ALL SLA members with specific questions on Annual Conference attendance.

Please feel free to contact the Co-Chairs, Hal Kirkwood (kirkwood@purdue.edu) and Kate Arnold (katearnold64@yahoo.co.uk). We look forward to seeing and speaking to many of you in San Diego!
