Awards

For 60-plus years, SLA’s awards program has honored members who shape the information profession and the association through their dedication, leadership, mentoring, and innovative approach to their work. From the James M. Matarazzo Rising Star Award, which recognizes new SLA members who show exceptional potential for leadership and contributions to the association and profession, to the John Cotton Dana Award, which recognizes a lifetime of achievement as well as exceptional service to SLA and the library and information profession, SLA awards honor those who put the interests of the library profession, their fellow librarians, and SLA above their own.
