Friends and Colleagues,

With the beginning of this new year came my turn to step into the role of SLA President. It is truly an honor to serve all of you and our beloved Association in this capacity. I thank you for the trust you have placed in me and will endeavor to do my very best to be worthy of it. I am fortunate to have an amazing Board of Directors with whom to work this year and I ask you all to join me in welcoming both our returning and new Board members. 

Volunteering with SLA is a great way to take advantage of your SLA membership and contribute to moving our industry forward. Volunteer opportunities are available within SLA's regional and topic-focused communities, committees upholding the tenets of the associations, and serving on the Board of SLA. Year-long commitments, project-based assignments, and micro-volunteering are all available.   

The call for volunteers is always open! 

I want to close this one with words of appreciation for all of those who have already been leading the charge: the Annual Conference Committee, the Information Outlook Committee, the Finance Committee, the Board of Directors, AH, and all of our community leaders. Thank you all for giving us reason to believe SLA can and will make it. And lastly, thank you all of you, our members for sticking it out and having faith in our Association.
