GoToMeeting Makes International Collaboration Easy

Did you know as an SLA Chapter, Division, or Caucus leader, you have access to SLA’s GoToMeeting / GoToWebinar account?

GoToMeeting allows you to connect with your fellow SLA colleagues from around the world, at no extra cost and without tying up your office conferencing line.

Another huge plus for GoToMeeting: setting where your attendees are located when scheduling a meeting. This is a great way to avoid long distance phone calling when a non-US participant does not have access to a good quality computer microphone.

To get started, access the Unit Conferencing Accounts page via the SLA Website (have your membership password ready).

Be sure that you meet system requirements for both meetings and webinars.

Check the schedule for both meetings and Webinars (‘My Meetings’ and ‘My Webinars’ when you right-click the GoToMeeting icon from your desktop):

Once you confirm that your preferred day and time is open, you can select Schedule New Meeting:

From there, you can select Edit Countries, and choose from any of 17 countries, including US, United Kingdom, Canada, Spain, France, Germany, and more.

This option will generate a phone number local for each country.  Using this number may incur a long distance charge depending on your location and calling plan, but will help participants avoid the fees incurred for calling from one country to another.

Enjoy, and let us know of any questions with this software.
